Moving to Reduced Services

Due to the current high COVID-19 case activity and community spread in Sauk County, and in accordance with Governor Evers’s Emergency Order #3, La Valle Public Library will be moving back to phase 2 of our reopening plan beginning Wednesday, October 28th 2020.

Further detail of what that entails below.

Although we are a small library in a small community, the spread of COVID-19 does not respect boarders or townships. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe it is a proactive step we can take to slow the spread of the virus and keep our staff and patrons safe, while providing the same high quality and personable services.

In order to make up for reducing our walk-in services, we are extending our open hours to be more available.

New hours beginning Wednesday, October 28th will be:

Monday and Thursday: 11AM-6:30PM

Tuesday: 2:30PM-6:30PM

Wednesday: 9AM-2PM

Saturday: 9AM-NOON

We will reevaluate this decision on Nov. 16, 2020, and make adjustments according to local COVID-19 numbers and follow the best course of action from there.

Curbside Pickup

Library materials may be picked up in the entryway of the library. Call the library at 608-985-7323 to arrange a pick up. You may place specific titles on hold, or ask a librarian to make a selection for you based on your interests.

Faxing, printing, and copying may also be requested for curbside pickup.

Shelf-Browsing by appointment

You may schedule an appointment to browse the shelves. Call ahead to check availability as we want to limit the amount of people in the building at once. If there is a line we will ask that you keep your browsing to thirty minutes. Families are welcome. We require everyone wear a mask while in the building to keep patrons and staff safe. Mask must cover the nose, mouth and chin of any patron inside the building for an appointment. For further accommodations, feel free to reach out.

Computer use by appointment

Limited computer use, printing, scanning, copying, and faxing will be available by appointment. Call the library to schedule an appointment. Mask must cover the nose, mouth and chin of any patron inside the building for an appointment.

Free WiFi access outside

Library WiFi will be available for free outside of our building on the sidewalk and from our parking areas.  No password is required and no time limits.

Dial A Librarian

For information needs, research help, references to local resources, assistance using online resources, or book/movie recommendations, library staff will be available by phone and email.

Online Resources

All of our online resources will continue to be available, including LINKCat (to place holds on library materials online, manage your account, etc.), free loans of ebooks and audiobooks via Libby and Overdrive, Consumer Reports online.

Virtual and Social Distanced Programming

We will continue to create and share virtual and socially distanced programs for kids, teens, and adults via our Facebook page, YouTube, and our website.

24/7 Book Return
